I love the preschool program here! My son went for two years and I'm excited to enroll my daughter for the following two years. The program has a great balance of academic and fun, and thanks to the program my son can write the alphabet very well and so much more. The schedule is also super ideal, 3x a week for 3 hours is a great introduction to what kindergarten will be like. This also coincides with the Star Center drop off, making it helpful to stay at home parents to drop off a younger sibling for an hour and work out or just have a kid free break. I am so thankful to have a preschool program like this in my community and hope other cities will follow Park Tacoma's example.

My daughter absolutely loves the Play Learn Grow Educational Preschool program at the Star Center. The growth she has shown has been absolutely incredible. Since starting the program, her confidence, social skills, and enthusiasm for learning have blossomed in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Her teachers are warm, supportive, and truly dedicated to each child’s success. I also cannot rave enough about the staff at the Star Center, they go above and beyond to create a safe space for everyone.

TLDR- the preschool is stellar and STAR Center rocks. This community center is an affordable, welcoming, and well-run organization. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, but the best part is the programming. The senior groups are always dancing and socializing. They have fitness classes including cycle classes. The gym is never crowded. There are day use lockers. And saving the best for last- the preschool is awesome. Part-time affordable school is so hard to find, and the Play Learn Grow program teaches academic and social-emotional skills to prepare them for their first years of elementary school. The teachers and students are supportive and kind yet consistent with their classroom management and safety. I’m so glad we have STAR Center in our lives!!!

Play learn and grow preschool is an absolutely amazing program! It's teachers are so involved with the kids and provide gentle guidance during play time and encourage work time growth! My son has learned so much over the last 2 years and I can't wait until my younger child can join!

Beautiful venue, but the experience was extremely disappointing. I hosted my daughter’s quinceañera here, and unfortunately the staff made the event far more stressful than it needed to be. They were rude, unaccommodating, and repeatedly interrupted us throughout the night to remind us about wrapping up even though there was no event scheduled after ours. It felt like they were rushing us out the entire time. Initially, we booked the venue when talking to the coordinator that we would be allowed to have our service dog there. The staff was questioning why our service dog was at the party and we have had that conversation already & the coordinator said it would be okay. On top of that, the projector screen was positioned in a way that blocked the stage, and we were told we’d have to pay extra to use the stage even though the issue was due to their equipment being broken before our event. It was unreasonable and frustrating. Overall, the constant interruptions and lack of professionalism from the staff overshadowed what should have been a special celebration. The venue may be beautiful, but the service completely ruined the experience.
